Good evening. I am working on my Disertation Paper. The main topic is the triune brain and I would like to reference this image. I would really appreciate if you could provide furhter information to me. Thanks a lot.
Hi Angela. I made the composite image and wrote text, although the individual brain pictures are some that seem to be everywhere online. I can’t find an original source for them. The triune brain model, as it says, comes from Paul MacLean. It’s a simplification, of course, so it’s not ‘true’. But I do find it a useful way of thinking. Hope that helps. Andrew
I’m creating a course on video, about panic attacks and would like to know if your Triune Brain composite is copyrighted and/or if I can use it on a slide describing the reptilian brain?
Hi Maribel. The original brain picture was someone else’s then I reworked it. I can’t honestly remember what the original was. So I can’t speak for the person who made that part of it. For my part, you’re welcome to use it. If you want to include a link to where you got it from, that would be lovely, but not required. Hope your presentation goes well.

I’ve just had a further look. I think the brain diagrams are from this. – (Google Image Search) https://www.google.com/search?hl=en-GB&q=triune+brain&tbm=isch&tbs=simg:CAQSlwEJOfhRosnldLIaiwELEKjU2AQaBAgVCAoMCxCwjKcIGmIKYAgDEiifFL4TnhS3E7ITsROqE5sUqBSpE-Ez4zPnN-Y37j_1fPZw9minwM-QzGjD4UPW3PJb3VovujouLSSrV3MZ4Db1AXVTZ_1427pbYugvv31wszybn6ra9TiZGDGyYgBAwLEI6u_1ggaCgoICAESBFMr0RUM&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwibm4Wx3IvhAhWASBUIHYlyCYIQwg4IKygA&biw=1098&bih=545&dpr=1.75#imgrc=VjvIZYbNaVNwwM:
Hello Andrew,
